The arguments that sway me are borne from results and example.  I’m drawn to those who don’t just articulate principles, but embody them.  And so this is how I try to frame my arguments:  by achieving my objectives.

(It’s actually pretty relaxing.  I get stuff done, and unless it pertains to a specific task, I don’t need to argue at all, unless I choose to.)

  1. you’ve been popping your suspenders, as we say in French, Kent, for some time, and as a friend, and as a person who believes in you, I suggest you move on to the next level, give us an example of your compulsion in action, a tangible illustration of your moral proclivity, does it stand the test of actual, lived, experience – with ever the greatest respect, and as a brother, richibi

    • If it’s any assurance, my intent isn’t to “pop my suspenders,” but rather to use my blog as a tool for expressing what I think and believe, like everyone else on wordpress.
Additionally, if I started catering to your subjective standard, then I would risk entrenching myself in a dominance hierarchy drama, wouldn’t I? If you want tangible results of my efforts, you can look at my portfolio of books, plus the weekly updates on Sunday which display my current progress to keep readers updated on where I’m at, and where I’m heading. And in the spirit of this musing, I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing, trying to push my capability in a variety of domains—creative, physical, financial, marketing, etc. If you want to place any of my actions within a value hierarchy, then by all means, be my guest—you’re entitled to your opinion. I’m just going to keep doing what I can with what’s in front of me, and where I feel it’s appropriate, announce my results.
