I used to think it was all about willpower, but when I focused purely on that, I’d burn myself out. Now I think it’s a simple decision: based on the available information, am I willing to do what it takes to execute my strategy? If I am, then I get to work. If not, then I save my energy for the next push.
One step back, three steps forward!

Best strategy.
Burn out is worse than ‘bloc’, weird things happen in writing during burn out.

It ends up creating a ton more work for me, and from what I’ve heard about alpha-minded folk who schedule in a four-day break every few months, it actually increases their productivity.

I guess we all Walk The Walk different ways.
I go stop-start-stop-start etc. My characters like it that way, gives them time to think up new ways to take over the plot.
