I suspect that the vast gulf between what I am now and what I am destined to be is designed to eat at me…and that the only remedy is to attempt crossing that gulf every day, and to try to go faster with each step. This, I have found, is the only way I sleep soundly. Maybe I’ll never cross that gulf…but no matter; I consider myself blessed for that deep peace that comes over me as I drift into slumber.
Sometimes I feel thing pang too. I heard a quote from Tony Robbins recently which gave me much relief: “Most people overestimate what they can achieve in a year, and underestimate what they can do in a decade.” Creative work and personal growth take time. Perhaps steadfastness and patience are their critical ingredients.

Of course! I mean, look at how many man-hours (people-hours?) it takes to make an awesome two hour movie. What slides over our minds in one smooth minute takes much, MUCH longer to prepare correctly. 🙂
