What does the phrase “life is the greatest teacher,” REALLY mean?  To me it means that in some scenarios, the most vaunted gurus are to be ignored, and the most infuriating scum are to be heeded.  😉

    I honestly hate that phrase. Sometimes, life is a horrible teacher. 😂

      Well I’d say a cruel one, but given a few years removal from events (just my personal anecdotal view) it seems to have been pushing some lesson of value to me, but I don’t want to be reductive to YOUR point: Whatever that lesson may be, it SUCKS to learn sometimes!

    Yeh, there’s nothing like getting one of Life’s big unexpected unjustified smacks in the mouth to make you feel a better and more balanced person.
    I prefer
    “I’m still standing you bastards!”
    Then not take it out on anyone else.
    (Works for me anyway)

      My style is “hey that’s a good one. I’ll see if I can get you next time!” Haha! Good to know you don’t wallow in moroseness though, there needs to be more like you!

        That’s a good one!!
        I tried the morose thing; but had access to MAD magazine and Warner Bros cartoons, so kinda cured…Just have problems with Reality (In large doses it’s over-rated anyway).

        Yeah I did too; moroseness is addictive and feels good in a weird way to be honest…I’m just getting too old to go for the power rush of being an all-knowing cynic, haha!
