At the end of my life, the verdict will be “He made it,” or “He didn’t make it but he should have,” or “He should have tried harder.” Boil it down and I’ll be revealed as lucky, unlucky—or worst of all—timid or lazy.
But going deeper than that reveals what’s even more important: Calling yourself on BS…and enjoying the hell out of whatever you do. 😉

Personally, I am Learning not to judge others so don’t care two pennies about someone else’s judgement. If I’m doing badly I hope I can call

Somebody I work with recently described me as being timid. I even challenged, in an unagressive manner, about her use of the word, but she failed to see how she may have offended me, which she did. Funny how in this extrovert centric society we inhabit, being quiet, reserved and meditative can be seen as being timid. This isn’t the first time I’ve been called timid. It just goes to show people are so quick to project their own illusions and false beliefs on others whose personalities they can’t be bothered to explore.
Water off a duck’s back my friend! She is obviously insecure to try and drag you down like that. Enjoy yourself and throw yourself into your passion; when you love the hell out of life and the haters see you doing it then that’s the best revenge! 😉

I too have been called as timid and shy. I don’t see myself as those. I have been bullied in the past, but that doesn’t been that I’m shy.
Absolutely! That’s part of owning your strength/capability. The tricky thing is to give every mean criticism a fair chance; by which I mean they may have something valid to say but they’re being a dick about it. BUT, I am absolutely, 100% with you in that you should never ever take the portion that is an attack on your self-worth in a serious manner. That’s just petty ego on their part.
