A garden is meant to be admired…but also weeded. In the same way, Truth—whether it be “pleasant” or not—must be contemplated and sifted through. Positive thinking (while essential), is not enough by itself.
But ironically, if you sift far enough, your thinking becomes positive by default. 😉
I was told the idea recently – in an eye-opening way, too – that truth by itself is not enough. A truth to have value must be relevant. Where it is true, but nevertheless irrelevant, it is little more than a bucketful of stones tossed into a crowd of well-wishers and people who act in good faith.

Agree! I also think truth is circumstance/context oriented. To simplify it; killing is a truly good thing…IN SOME CIRCUMSTANCES. So I think in order to stay aligned with truth, we must constantly be aware of the fluid way that our context and circumstance changes, lest we make the mistake of applying a truth that no longer applies to our current circumstances.

Yup. That it be true does not in itself justify audience.
