Those hard-earned stores of willpower/clarity gained through discipline and contemplation aren’t meant to be used for rosy and easygoing times; they’re meant for the times when you feel trapped and broken, when the right thing is impossibly hard to define, when there seems to be no escape. But there will be grace; there will be resolution. Why?
Because you have trained for it.
If it doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t count. If you aren’t sweating and ‘ticked’ off with the whole thing, you aren’t doing it right (unless you’re laughing in a way that makes folks move away from you)

Sometimes we need a break so we can get back at it, but in general, I agree 100%. (sorry if I was obnoxiously contrarian just then!)
