We cannot go back to the blissful ignorance of our childhood, but through training and daring, we can become re-enchanted with life. There’s no reason to stop questing; the magic comes from walking the road, not reaching the end.

This is beautiful, I often think about how everything seemed to be better when I was a kid. This line- “The magic comes from walking the road, not reaching the end,” really let me put my childhood in perspective and made me see that there was a certain type of beauty in the good parts and the bad parts.

Thank You! Indeed, the bad parts are necessary, and can be turned into good parts with the right shift of spirit and perspective. There is a technical term: Secondary gains, for when you reap great rewards from something seemingly bad.

This comes on a good day. Today is my mom’s birthday (though she’s been dead for almost 2 years). I’m always thinking how I wish I could go back to my childhood days and live them again. But we can’t, and so we must go on.

Everything that happened with her was a subtle or overt gift. And I think you have the right idea; the best way to honor is to keep going and make use of the energy she gifted you with. On an indirectly related note: Great job on the sample chapters, Bobby!
