IMHO, one of the highest purposes of the foreboding knowledge institutions that we revere is to simultaneously instill discipline/rebellion in us, so that we have the dogged persistence to create new paradigms that render those self-same institutions obsolete.

Yes. Agree. Or maybe, also, forge completely different kinds of institutions. Parallel existences which overcome through coherence.
