Knowledge isn’t some foreboding mountain that we must all summit in the same way. Knowledge is relative and dynamic—a set of rolling logs that we each stumble, fall, and dance upon in a uniquely novel manner. The rough barometer of knowledge is how well it translates to performance, but IMHO, the true value of knowledge is in its potential to make life as fulfilling as possible.
“the true value of knowledge is in its potential to make life as fulfilling as possible.” Indeed. As “performance” is often immeasurable.

What a unique way to explain knowledge. I will never again watch log rolling without thinking of these thoughts.

Interesting. Knowledge as a mountain; knowledge as a set of rolling logs. I think of knowledge as a vast ocean that pours into the reservoir of what is unknown with a small amount seeping into the pool of what is known. The intensity of the stream that flows between the two depends on one’s level of consciousness.
