Application of intellect reveals how pointless our lives are: We live for a short span and are confined to one world among billions. Don’t underestimate shallow dips into indulgence. Woody Allen addressed that issue in “Love and Death.” His cousin, played by Diane Keaton, objects to his sexual advances. “Sex without love is just an empty experience,” she says. Allen replies, “But as empty experiences go, it’s one of the best.”
