Musings

It’s possible to temporarily fake discipline through obsession, but in order to become a reliable professional that can deliver the highest quality at any time, any place, I believe that discipline must be fostered, and obsession eventually grown out of.

  1. How does one go about growing out of obsession? Discipline appears to function somewhat independently of obsession, if one considers that actions can be considered conscious decisions, where obsessions are more akin to thoughts, desires, and feelings. While it is often true that these things often drive decisions, they need not necessarily, and so, one can go about work with discipline, but remain obsessed. Does it subside or otherwise taper? I am not so sure.. What are your thoughts?

    • Sometimes it just takes time. It’s possible to heed the advice of those who have been down that path, it is also possible to nearly be destroyed by obsession so that you see how it is futile and discipline is more sustainable…as always, the answers are simple in concept, complex in execution.
