What the heinous anus is happening, all you rebellious savages who don’t shave your b-holes and cultivate a thriving forest that spawns multiple tribes of tiny humanoids who go to war with rocks and clubs, then slowly evolve into an industrialized civilization, rapidly discover quantum computing and brain-machine interfaces, holy shit they’ve constructed giant braids out of your scraggly butthairs, now they’re paving them with space-age metals and traversing their breadth in dimension-hopping vehicles powered by Kardashev-frameworked channeled white holes MOTHER OF GOD THEIR LEADER IS BROADCASTING A LIVE SPEECH IN FRONT OF A BURNING WHITE HOUSE POLITICIANS AND GENERALS ARE CUFFED AND KNEELING WHILE YOUR EVIL BUTT-HUMANOIDS ARE POINTING CANNONS AT THEIR HEADS—

And THAT, my friends, is why you give the ol’ b-hole a regularly scheduled weed-whacking!  You never know when civilizations will rise and fall in its puckered expanse, then outgrow their habitat and tyrannize Earth!

I haven’t had a lot of success with rationalizing or forcing away my negativity. Obviously, it’s not smart to outwardly express it or act it out (in a lot of situations, anyway), so for the longest time, I defaulted to bludgeoning myself with reasons as to why my negativity was invalid or irrational. Predictably, that was exhausting.

Nowadays, I’ve found it easier to acknowledge my negativity’s right to exist, and simply focus on allowing it to be (acknowledge it and feel it regardless of how inappropriate or irrational it is, even though I don’t outwardly express it). I don’t have to endorse it, like it, or regard it with grudging tolerance (sullenly view it in a begrudging light), but I find that it seems to act like a mirror of myself, which, even though it initiates the hold, is an entity I can choose to grapple with in a lose-lose dynamic; it meets my force with an exhaustingly close match in strength and stubbornness. However, once I relax my grip and accept my negativity, once I allow myself to feel it and let it be (kind of like how my supposed higher self is accepting of both negative and positive), I find that my negativity imitates my approach and loosens its hold. If it were separate from me, a different person so to speak, then we’ve disagreed politely and gone our separate ways, instead of indulging in a scarcity mentality where only one of us has the right to exist.

I’ve finally attained Force Ghost status, but my traitorous peers have turned against me!  I thrash violently with my mind, trying to free my astral presence from their psionic lock, but they’ve pinned my ass to a space-time approximate.

“What the FUCK?!?” I fume.  “WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS???”

They avert their gazes.  Kenobi mutters, “You’ve been monopolizing the available astral women.  Once you transitioned into a spirit, we thought you would leave your Man-Whore days behind you.  I appreciate everything you’ve taught me, but—”

“Go FUCK YOURSELF!” I rage. 

Luke Skywalker’s bitch-ass screeches, “Fuck me yourself, you coward!”  Then he looks around in mortification.  “That came out wrong.  I meant—”

Mace Windu tears into him with, “I have had it with this motherfucking sister-kisser, in this motherfucking astral realm!  That shit you pulled on the Death Star and Hoth was straight-up disgu—”

Anakin holds up a hand.  “Enough.  Kent, we apologize.  While I find it regrettable, you need to be completely deconstructed.  Your luscious astral penis destroys our chances of attracting any potential mates.”

Fuck it.  No options left.  So I rip an arm free of their Force-powered freeze, reach into my astral robe, and open my astral eReader to a Kent Wayne novel, activating its mind-bending reality distortion powers.  Magic flash.

Shmi Skywalker appears by my side and regards the Jedi with astonishment and fury.  “Why have you imprisoned this award-winning Man Whore?”

Anakin rubs his eyes with a thumb and a forefinger.  “Mom, you don’t understand.  Just step aside and—”

“Never!  This man deserves justice!”  She starts licking my face and grabbing my junk.

“Mom!”  Anakin extends a hand in protest.  “MOM!”

Padme materializes out of the aether and looks me up and down in surprise and delight.  “Holy shit!  An award-winning Man Whore!”  She gives my nuts an appreciative squeeze, then joins Shmi in the on-ramp to debauchery.

Anakin’s eyes widen in anguish.  “PADME?!?  No, don’t—”

“Hit it from the back!”  Shmi raises her skirt and I happily comply.  While I’m shlorping away, she makes eye contact with Anakin.  “Gonna shuffle up linearity, and give you a little psychic surprise:  I’ve made your unborn self aware of Kent’s girthy upcurve, thrusting toward your face while you’re still in the womb.  That should hop-skip across the temporal divide, and—”

Anakin drops to his knees and clutches his eyes.  “Agh!  Mom, no—I can smell his nasty-ass frenulum!  It kills, IT KILLS!”

The other Jedi exchange a panic-threaded glance.  “That’s right, assholes!” I gloat.  “Wanna see me widen out your moms and/or girlfriends?  No?  Then you’d best be on your merry fucking way!”

They all vanish in a sparkling twinkle.  All except for Anakin—I keep him there for a good five minutes, subject to the worst fate you can inflict on a hater.  The NOOOOO he unleashes puts the one he did at the end of the third shitty prequel to absolute, unequivocal shame. 

HEH heh heh!  Kent Wayne wins again!

Obviously, a journey begins with a single step, but personally, I have encountered a follow-on need to nurture positivity; it primes my perception for opportunities and choices, rather than browbeating and relentless disparagement.

I could adopt the age-old argument that greatness comes from voluntary misery, but I’ve lived way too long in a wretched and destitute, tit-for-tat, transaction-driven model where the victor wins a torturously anemic sip of happiness before plunging back into an ocean of contestation and suffering. If I eat good food, I’d like to enjoy it without hemming and hawing. If I see good movies, I’d like to appreciate them without obsessing over how they could have been better. And if I write a story that I love and approve of when I hit publish, I’d like to move on to the joy of writing the next one, without bemoaning how I could have added or subtracted this or that.

Perhaps that means I forsake the masses’ definition of “greatness.” I don’t think it’s an either/or, but if I’m deemed outwardly great while being inwardly miserable, then I believe I’m in conflict with my existential purpose.
