My understanding of perception is that in the beginning, most of us mistake [divinity] for light. Then, as our perceptions deepen, we can’t help but see [divinity] everywhere—light, dark, beauty, horror—and the word “light” becomes nothing more than a placeholder used to navigate the grand game of existence.

Well said! I have often experienced my greatest growth in times of darkness… by default, a light was shone.
