  • Quick Echo Update

Ok, so Palamedes’s editor said he wanted to work with me on Echo 1!  Awesome sauce!  I’m not sure what other stuff I gotta navigate, as this IS my first foray into traditional publishing.  He noted that I’m heavy-handed on the adjectives and adverbs, which I couldn’t agree with more (glad he didn’t see the…

IMHO, two things writing must have is clarity of thought and clarity of imagination.  If the reader doesn’t have to muddle their way through a jumble of poorly formed thoughts and concepts, then they can proceed directly to those wondrous dimensions that the author is dying to share.

  • Echo: A Dystopian Science Fiction Novel

I’m piddling around a farm, rubbing the heads of various moo-cows (you know it’s more fun to call ’em that—don’t deny it) when clouds overtake the sun and darken the skies.  What the hell?  Suddenly the cows hunch over and begin shaking.  I take slow steps backwards, my eyes wide and uncertain.  Then I hear it…

Momentum is often used as a guide (as to what direction to keep going in), but it is lazy and unproductive to coast unthinkingly on the tides of the past.  IMHO, momentum should be used as a propellant, carefully ruddered by introspection and self-awareness.

  • Palamades Publishing: Get your fix of poetry, ghosts, and soon…giant robots. That’s right: Giant robots motha duckas!

I’m chilling with my buds in a cabin we’ve rented for a weekend.  We fill our time by cracking beers, throwing wisecracks, and having all the “what if Batman fought a  _____” discussions we want.  As we’re tearing into racks of fall-off-the-bone ribs and perfectly seared steaks, a deep howl emerges from the arboreal winter…
