    I liken writing a book to preparing a gourmet meal.  The pacing must be there, different dishes/events must be served on time, the lighting and atmosphere (or the word choice and phrasing) must be given careful attention—all so that the audience can be swept away, sated… And left wanting to return.

    I’ve often seen people (including myself) chain themselves to convenience—unless things flow smoothly and are readily available, things don’t get done.   And this conundrum is exactly why discipline and creativity are available to us, for combining those qualities can free us from the illusory shackles of convenience and allow us to soar.
