In order to realize and transmit Truth, the artist must constantly—CONSTANTLY—be merciless with him/herself; s/he must hunt ignorance…butcher it swiftly and skillfully so that the choicest cuts of knowledge may be served to his/her audience…before time and culture make the meat go rancid.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking an external teacher or a great comrade.  But I have become convinced that over the course of our lives, we aren’t meant to depend on the indefinite presence of others.  In the end, we are meant to be our own harsh-as-hell taskmasters, as well as our own best…

I think the INTENT under every statement has truth to it (even the ugly & stupid ones are muddled cries for power/security/validation); the challenge lies in how well we can EXPRESS that intent.   So remember, poets:  bad poetry is terrible, good poetry is sublime.  😉

Detachment doesn’t mean you are aloof or indifferent; on the contrary, it means you have no problem going from 0-100 and back again in the same instant.   Being able to love brightly, and when it’s time, to let go lightly.  

No need to cling to our epiphanies; if we learn from them and let them pass through our minds without trying to hold them down, then better ones will follow.   It’s all about the flow.  The snapshots are meant to fade.  😌

All roads lead back to the simple realizations that we should remember to laugh at ourselves, and we should pursue life with a full heart and enjoy every Damned second of it. (But don’t stress if you forget; IMHO, life is a planned series of reminders and easter eggs to keep you from being indefinitely lost)  😉
