    Up to a point, the talented/powerful can use their energy to impose their will onto their surroundings.  But to move to the highest level, they must impose their will onto themselves, so that they will be functional/optimal regardless of surroundings or even circumstance.

    I’ve indulged in both political extremes; the far left insisting that all fault lies with the environment, and the far right insisting that all fault lies with the individual. Eventually I realized that the fault arises from not being able to recognize that sometimes it’s one, sometimes the other.  And being able to act/adjust accordingly.
