I am all for the Gucci’d-out spirituality of “power” foods/objects/clothes/shrines…but only as an intermediary.  These tools are useful if they propel us toward seeing interconnectivity.  But as soon as these things are considered unchangingly indispensable, they’ve become handicaps. Should we ever get hung up on gadgets and tools, then we’ve traded novelty for substance.

Walking my dog past hollering punks at a basketball court.  Ball flies out of court, hits an old lady in the face, making her fall and sit, and the punks laughingly apologize.  You can tell they’re not sorry; they go right back to joking and playing ball.  The ball’s flying at me now.  I open…

If tapping the numinous/mystical/magical was a matter of “proper” environment/money/physicality, that would be a sad joke indeed, for we are limited in all of those things.  No, I believe at a deeper level, we CHOSE these limitations to see how the infinite weaves itself into each and every quanta, no matter how “limited” or “low vibe” or…

I see a big ol’ corn-fed, generic-issue, Obnoxious Guy at the zoo.  He’s at the glass-enclosed gorilla exhibit, making faces, sticking his tongue out, generally just being an ass.  The gorilla is looking back in resigned disgust.  My eReader, open to Echo, flashes with magic.  The gorilla perks up, as if he’s heard something interesting…

An evil wizard has cursed me to live in Leave It To Beaver America.  The food is an endless hell of gee-whiz blandness, the only entertainment is stickball, and suspiciously, there are no minorities around.  I’m going crazy.  I see an eReader on the pristine sidewalk, and it’s open to Echo.  It flashes with magic light.…

Power is a hollow, fiat currency; real worth lies in that rushing ocean of awareness that we have all glimpsed in our truest, most honest moments.
