Musings

I like to move in the direction of my dreams, even if it doesn’t seem to lead to any treasure.  I’ve found unexpected rewards along the way.  And on multiple occasions, I’ve been given more than I asked for.

Sure, I’ve had to compromise at times—make sure I could pay the rent or deal with obligations—but I suspect that if I pursue my dreams with a clear mind and an open heart, even if it’s just for five minutes a day (which is a situation I’ve found myself in), I’ll tap into a wealth of unforeseen support.

  1. I like the “even for five minutes a day” part. I’ve found lately, if I wait until I have hours and hours for my own projects, I never work on them. Five minutes a day at least keeps them moving forward, if slowly.

  2. Wise words! The rewards are often on the path. And even with just 5 minutes a day, we can engage our minds (and unconscious). Much better than grousing, “But I don’t have the time!” 🙂

    • I’m in the same boat. And from what I hear, there are successful “creative” folks who are purely driven by the market, always stressing out over whatever people think so they can do well in focus studies and drive up numbers. That’s why I could never be a movie studio executive. 😅

  3. Agreed! I am so glad you are taking at least a little time daily to pursue your dreams! When my old job took up most of my day, I’d get up at 5:00am just to have a little writing time before work. I am not a morning person, but I had to do it to keep myself sane. 🙂

      • Absolutely. I feel like a lot of people confuse it for settling, but I say keep an open mind as to what doors it may open. Nelson Mandela isn’t perfect, but working with what he had in prison–being nice to the guards, trying to be extra neat–led to some truly unexpected opportunities for him.

  4. I must admit that I like the comments I’m reading. I’ve used meditation as an aid for my writing. I can mentally access information through silence. When I write a scene in a story I mentally feel what needs to enter in my story. I just completed “Victims Make the Best Birdhouses,” my memoir of my struggle with childhood physical and sexual abuse. The writing process seems to be like an open door that widens if you give it a chance. Larry L Franklin

    • I meditate as well! It’s essential, as far as I’m concerned. My take on what you’re saying is that quieting the conscious mind allows the subconscious to help out and contribute inspiration from unexpected angles, which the conscious mind can then integrate and utilize. As far as the open door that widens, in my opinion that’s spot on!

      • Its the focus on the negative often tethered events in houses of workforce to professional were transitional personalities manage to drag others to benefit themselves, ! The teaching of eye house masters, release linguistics which control or delete the type of malevolent and the genuine obstruction in certain communities whose family line really do need to release! My house had no requirement raising babies independantly but the dark side of other extensions required a controlled release! now look at me, sixth remap, all personality and no PC guard to clear!

      • I thought the next twenty years on whenever the passion hits! My Parliament seat means i am supernatural satin, summer holidays they are tech and consoled up and i am narrating my life through youtube and WordPress! I do not do phones as a telepath it would mess with my manifesting and contacting those who are important!

      • Positive passion! i got nothing but time and i cannot see you getting it wrong however my (body of man is pretending to work today!) i had to set religious parameters as my daughter was locked! I am sat with six kids, make sure you get it right coz it will cost you everything, for passion loyal with a clause i will still need 12 central levels so unless you are street to ministries occassionally i have to shift my lines!

    • Absolutely! It’s more of a heart thing than a head thing, in my opinion, but I guess it does make logical sense as well. Minutes become hours which become days which become results.

    • In those circumstances, I tell myself it’s okay not to breathe, which, ironically, allows me to breathe because I’m focusing on the “okay,” rather than the urgency. May not work for everyone, however.

  6. as with Crowley the aim & activity are more important than lust after success! my few successes have all been surprises & the doing & the getting there far more important, catastrophic & almost total failure does not teach you much but to try & avoid the same mistakes – but I seem to be unnaturally talented in both unremitting failure & Suprise success – so far (am 59) have survived both – so as with diabetes complications take each day as it comes. – just want one independent witness to say my Iain Sinclair database was worth all the effort & time – the main man Iain Sinclair & his biographer/bibliographer have copies but no time to look at it – is aimed at academics. Test Centre’s business model is hopelessly inadequate; i.e Johnson, J. M. and I. Sinclair (2019). The works of Iain Sinclair: A Descriptive Bibliography and Biographical Chronology. It’s not often that you read something that you wish you’d have written. Your words resonated such that I’d have chosen the same ones, had I got there first. You just put it in such a beautiful way that it made me proud, and envious all at the same time.

I’ve only just arrived, but I’m here, where you are.
