If happiness is unconditional (which I believe it is, mostly from personal experiences where I’ve been happy in “miserable” conditions and also where I’ve been miserable in “happy” conditions) then you never need to explain it, justify it, or argue for why you are happy. There is no condition you need to defend it from.
But ironically, out of politeness, it may be prudent to conceal it from those who are miserable.

So true… not only misery loves company, but people who are miserable do a pretty good job at convincing you that you can’t possibly be happy in your circumstances because they can’t find happiness in their own. Better to keep your happiness away from them. 🙂

Exactly. Let people live and let them be until they want something better.

And this is why we sing and like to hear folk sing ‘The Blues’.

Is it truly unconditional? Or, is it simply not conditional on the conditions we believe it to be?
