The intent behind revenge leads to a never-ending, tit-for-tat measuring contest where offenses are constantly weighed and scrutinized. Is that our life’s purpose? I don’t think so.
I like to think we were meant to enjoy this brief stay in the physical realm. And though it may seem counterintuitive, I believe our natural state is to enjoy our lives, even in the midst of terrible adversity, or at least be able to enjoy how pain can blossom into a future pleasure.
Not only do I think that’s our natural state, I believe it’s our birthright.

History shows this exasperating and depressing cycle. Of Oppressed becoming the Oppressor, because of…. Which leads to them falling and becoming the Oppressed again, while the previously Oppressed becomes the Oppressor again, until they both end up being Oppressed by a new Oppressor who in turn….. You get the idea.
