The question is: how hard do we fight it? The harder we fight, the more it seems like meaningless perpetuation. In the end, however, novelty is inevitable.

Whose this “we” you speak of? I know some tragically vanilla people who have remained as such for many, many years, so I disagree that “Creativity is a foregone conclusion.” Some people are perfectly content to be as exciting as park benches their whole lives. Creativity is a tool for those who are willing to learn how to use it. 🙂

I’d say they’re just re-creating many of their same thought patterns and circumstances. Nothing stays the same, even if it’s through an invisible mechanism like the rearrangement of atoms and expansion of the universe.

ahh. recreating the same patterns. Although, that isn’t creating, it is a rut and yet..ruts are always full of something besides a hole to get stuck in! Thus, you can be stuck and still change a smidge anyway! Even if it is just to get a dirty face.
