If youth is a mindset that facilitates flexibility, growth, and the ability to revel in new adventures and new challenges, then old age is an attachment to fear, comfort, and a faulty assumption that one has accounted for every possibility and concluded it is better to never take a risk or consider an outlandish idea.
Curiously enough, I have seen both youth and old age displayed by children and adults.

Everything in moderation… Youth lacks wisdom and some degree of peace. Old age lacks agility and open-mindedness. I think a little of both is where we can achieve contentment, if not true happiness (something I’m not sure is possible for more than a little bit at a time).
