I’ve come to believe that transcendence isn’t something you train or sacrifice for, it’s something you allow. You can allow it to flow in the most bizarre or extreme circumstances, which is why it’s transcendent—it transcends the bounds of logic and preference. And if you believe there is a benevolent order at the heart of existence, then transcendence will result in positivity. It may not seem like it in the moment, but it has to be that way in the end.
