  1. Well, it’s only free to Kindle Unlimited, so fuck that. But the look inside was enough. Adverbs galore, matey. I busted on you once for stylistic license, but I get it. However the way you thread things is like a left-handed football sometimes. I like it, but damn, son, here we are cookin’ along a page later than a good spot to drop some BS (backstory) and then in the middle of a confab we get who the cheerleader’s Daddy is.
So I started this YA that’s a little less over the top about three years ago, got a chapter or two in. The “New babe” at the HS is actual a serial murderer, who goes round the country being the new babe and knocking off the Homecoming King types. Want in? We’d slay. Keep your adverbs and speedbump BS at bay, or at least linear. It’s doable.

    • Thank you but no. I edit my own stuff heavily, on average of 30 times per page, to get the feel I like from it. I have very specific things I want to happen in a story in a very specific way, but most of it is honestly freestyling where I pleasantly surprise myself. Long story short, it would be a nightmare for another writer to handle.

      • That was a spoof. If you’re editing your stuff “heavily” at a rate that would fell mere mortals then you need to buy a copy of Lanham’s “Revising Prose” and get more mileage for your effort. I show up occasionally to bust your chops bro, because you could be somebody if you tried.

      • Thanks for the feedback and chop-busting, but I’m happy with how things are going. Right now, I don’t feel the need to revamp according to another’s standards, and I don’t feel the need to be anyone else besides who I already am. Life has been more than kind to me–I was recently able to retire before hitting 40 while easily providing for my mom and my self, so my focus is on appreciating the moment and engaging in pursuits out of enjoyment rather than ambition.
