Musings

I like complaining.  It feels good.

The trick is to know when it stops feeling good, and simply becomes a force of habit.  That’s when it’s time to do something else.

  1. This is so important. A friend and I were talking about this the other day, about how good it feels to have a good bitch-fest (let’s be honest, complaining with a friend is fun), but once we’ve had it and we feel we’re getting more upset than relieved, it’s time to move on and find a silly meme or anything else as long as it changes the subject.

      • It sure is. I have to admit I tend to cut ties whenever I notice someone can’t have a conversation outside complaining. It’s quickly draining to be around a person like that. It’s earned me a reputation of being cold, but oh well.

      • The path of least resistance is the way to go–it allows for any and all action. I think the best way to argue is by setting a good example without the intention of winning any argument, so I think you’re on to something. 🙂

      • I have to admit I never really thought much about what kind of example I’m setting for…. my plants? They don’t talk back much when I chat with them. But seriously, I do agree. 🙂 People forget that argument means well.. presenting arguments, not just seeing who can talk the most or shout the loudest.
