I think it’s totally possible to “follow my bliss” and be fulfilled.
But first, I have to demonstrate the brutal/ruthless honesty required to know myself—to know what my “bliss” even is—by tracking the evidence/tendencies that reveal not just my shining glories, but also my darkest failings. Then I have to demonstrate the discipline, creativity, and urgency to crush/circumvent/stifle the [inconveniences, bureaucracy/opposition/etc.] that keep me from hitting my target.
If I do all that, then “following my bliss” is a piece of cake.
Being honest with yourself is the first step to believing in your abilities and ambitions. By the way, is there icing on the cake?

I hope to follow my bliss, too, but sometimes I do wander off the path.

I like cake. Most cake. I make an absolutely AMAZING chocolate chocolate chip zucchini cake with chocolate frosting. I can’t send you cake, I can send gingerbread.
I also read and took notes on Joseph Campbell’s book ‘The Hero with a Thousand Faces’. Good read.

I tried to get it on Kindle, but apparently it’s only available in hard copy. I agree with its main premises though—the hero’s journey is applicable in every facet of life, in my opinion.
