This applies to more than just creative pursuits! I play recreational hockey, and I’m not very good at it. Occasionally I’ll see a player who played at a professional or even semi-professional level skating. What looks easy for them is the result of years of playing, practice, physical conditioning, training, etc.

Well from my perspective allow me to say that I believe hockey at it’s highest level is probably a creative pursuit! 😉

I feel that this is particularly true for cooking… all you have to do is watch Gordon Ramsay yell at a chef for failing to make basic scrambled eggs.

Right! “Basic” to our mind, but for him it’s probably an important component that goes with other designs (or could)

There’s no getting around those ten thousand hours. Of course, if after all the hours of complicated, one hasn’t reached simplicity, don’t quit your day job.
