 Why flagellate yourself because you’re unable to progress using someone else’s methods?  Sure, they may have something to offer…but if we were meant to take the exact same road that they did, we would have BEEN them.  Why not honor the clues that existence gives us through our differences, and see that we are all meant to tread different—but equally amazing—paths?

    • Indeed! I like to take the stance that all the really important themes have been done before…it’s up to us though to keep reinterpreting them so they’re fresh and novel, or they turn to dust or fanaticism. Thanks Brad! 🙂

  5. Haha it’s why self help books never work for me 🤣🤣 one perk of being stubborn – I am determined to figure things out for myself. One negative – I reinvent the wheel a lot. It’s more about trusting myself than anything – that…connecting with true intuition is a hell of a process. ❤️

      • True! It’s all been an incredible process of learning to trust myself. I think people get hung up on the steps – so busy following directions, step one of experience it for yourself, form your own conclusions. I’m the chick who literally forgot to add water in a just add water recipe tho, so I kind of just wing it hahahahhaa

    • I loved the Peaceful Warrior when I was little, but I agree with you. I think there’s a fine balance between using self help stuff to secure a good spot on the game board…but we can’t cling to that spot, we still have to find a way to navigate our own way around the board. I also have reinvented the wheel many a time…nowadays though, I try to keep that same audacity while also striving to cobble together what has worked for me in the past. The benefit and curse of experience, right? We start to see what works, but it’s come at the cost of much pain and sacrifice. Now, though, it’s time to sit back and enjoy the ride! 🙂

    • I’d say it’s ESSENTIAL to start on one already trod…it’s just at that one point where we face the choice to break out in a new path or keep treading someone else’s that’s caused me (probably a lot of other folk) problems ‘cos I like to cling to old ways, but now I’m trying to get that right mix down of using old-but-good tools but also being willing to ditch em for new ones. Not always comfortable…Man Child Kent Wayne is a bit hardheaded LOL!
