Musings

IMHO, acceptance of limitations allows me to strategically navigate through and past them.  Denial of limitations (the road most often taken from what I’ve seen) MAY allow me to surpass them, but will quash my ability to navigate.  We’re BORN with limitations—clues, if you will—that serve as rough guides telling us where to place our focus and spend our time.

Why slave away trying to learn how to levitate when you could freely soar by exploring the possibilities that are RIGHT HERE?

  1. Two very trite things just flashed across the big screen in my head. A quote from “Illusions” – “Argue for your limitations and they are yours.” And holy crap, I know the original was a drug anthem, but the lyrics, applied beyond that simple analogy? The Amboy Dukes – Journey to the Center of the Mind –
    “Come along if you care
    Come along if you dare
Take a ride to the land inside of your mind…”

So much trite Thursday. Hey, a prompt is a prompt, right?

  2. You ought to check out a psychological concept called radical acceptance. Radical acceptance is about accepting reality as it and working from there, not from where you wish it was.

    • I’m assuming when you say reality you’re focusing on functionality? My over-thinking mind has been focused of late on how the world before us is an illusion. We can’t see past the RGBIV color spectrum, never mind the crazy interplay of light and energy that’s occurring before us at all times. I find it cool that our senses evolved to help us survive and navigate the physical reality, and created so much neat stuff along the way.
