News: I think I’ve found my sweet spot for now; I’m drafting 3k words a day, five days a week. Is most of the stuff garbage? Yeah it’s pretty rough right now. But this way I won’t have to re-edit in the end due to my writing style having changed over the course of my editing. I’m trying to save time by clumping together drafting as much as possible, and then editing at the end, thus minimizing the natural changes in style that occur over the course of time. Not sure if that makes sense (even to me it doesn’t seem very well explained) but we’ll see how this goes.
Alright, back to work! If you’re a writer, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!!!
Good job finding your sweet spot! Haven’t found mine yet, but I am still plotting so hopefully that goes well!
Happy Writing!

3000 words a day is great and 5-days a week is pretty fast. Great job! Keep going…you’re in “the flow.”

Thank you for sharing this. I’m trying to get the first draft done faster for the same reason. The style and tone changes if too much time passes.

Good luck with your draft! Yep, took me some trial n error to try this approach…but it’s pretty annoying not fixing every little thing along the way
