  1. Me again. (Echo 2 purchase, not KNP). So, I finished Echo 1 in one sitting and, like I said, felt like I was kind of left hanging – but, I had to know what the heck happened next. So I read the free chapters on your site. And that just made it worse! For the first time *ever* I went to Amazon and clicked the buy button because I absolutely had to keep reading. I’ll put it this way: the last time I was this wrapped up in a story was Misery by Stephen King. I am *into* this story and this character. You’re a hell of a damn good writer Kent, and Echo deserves more attention than it has received. I’m wondering if moving it from “hard science fiction” to “military science fiction” might help. This really is a military sci-fi story.

    • Thanks buckets for giving Echo 2 a chance! I’m gonna go see if I can change it to mil sci fi right now…you’re right on that…I wasn’t sure what “hard sci fi” was until I saw interstellar (at least I THINK that’s what hard sci fi is)

      • Wow, this is spooky. I quote the exact same soliloquy from Macbeth in The Terran Mandate. I quote part of it at the front of my final chapter. Kish quotes a part of it during his boss battle. And both books were released within a month of each other, so we were both doing this at roughly the same time. Spooky. 🙂

Hard sci fi: think The Martian. It’s about being technically accurate and plausible. Geeky.

      • Yeah, my stuff is DEFINITELY not technically accurate! I think we’ve experienced parallel thinking. I actually double-checked in Amazon and my stuff is labeled both hard sci-fi AND military sci-fi. Thanks for the input, though! Lord knows without a beta reader or manager I could use some oversight, haha!
