What editing really is, is making sure that your work is strong enough to house the interdimensional portal you have concealed inside it—that oh-so-carefully constructed portal that leads to wherever your imagination took you when you were drafting your work.
I think it’s all about honing things so that you are connecting to the dimensions others live in.

Or so that others can step inside and suspend their sense of disbelief long enough to take the trip with you. And remember it favorably. We edit so the postcards readers take away with them don’t get thrown in a shoebox and forgotten.
